My second collaboration with Momus. After seeing one of my daily drawings Nick Curry asked if I would be interested in doing portraits of himself and David McClymont for an upcoming album cover. In 1963 the French Fluxus artist Robert Filliou declared that Art was born one million years ago when someone dropped a sponge in a bucket of water. It was supposed to have happened on January 17 and therefore Filliou decided that January 17 is Art’s Birthday. So in 2013 we will celebrate Art’s 1,000,050th birthday!
On Saturday January 12 we arrange a big birthday party, which takes place at Södra Teatern in Stockholm for the fifth time. The venues’ four stages will be crowded with experimental sounds, performance, noise, electronica, techno, arty pop, tricky rock and DJ’s. The admission is free, of course, and the party is broadcast live on Swedish Radio P2."
JG Thirlwell will be performing a solo concert in honor of the Birthday of Art entitled "Cholera Nocebo" with a video backdrop shot partly by yours truly.
